44% of students who took part in the National Student Money Survey said they struggled to keep up with rent costs. For many students, that leads to mental health and study problems, making it even more important to prepare for the cost of university by building a budget, understanding your accommodation options and working out what to do if things go wrong.
Students also had problems with damp and broken heating in their homes – but the most common complaint was noisy housemates.
